Kobi Pronam -2019 – Call for Participation

Kobi Pronaam,our community’s annual tribute to two of Bengal’s greatest poets, Rabindranath Tagore and Kaji Nazrul Islam will be held on the 8th of June at PCC Rock Creek Auditorium from 3pm through 8pm. Prabashi Portland is pleased to announce its support for the event this year. For more information please read the information received on behalf the organization team of Kobi Pronaam.

Call for Participation

This year team Kobi Pronaam has decided to offer three dedicated program slots. Firstly, a presentation of Tagore’s Bhanushingher Padaboliwith a live orchestra (duration 45 minutes), followed by a 40-minute time slot for kids age 14 and under. We expect multiple teams to cover the designated time. All these presentations need to be related to either Tagore or Nazrul. Our preference will always be for group presentations - to maximize participation. Finally, we also encourage adults to come forward with their own presentations. It can be vocals, dance, recitation, etc. as long as it is in accordance to the theme Kobi Pronaam. We have allotted a 40 minutes slot for this. Group participation is preferred for this as well.

Mela

On request of many of the community members team Kobi Pronaam has added a Bangla Mela to the event this year. We offer the Mela participants to setup stalls (standard 6’x2’ table will be made available). We request Mela participants to showcase Bangla Culture and Heritage from the local business interests stand point. This may also include food stalls from very own Bengali culinary chefs. Team Kobi Pronaam will consider all possible stall ideas from you - and we shall try our best to accommodate all the requests. Participation request is now closed. The Kobi Pronam  team thank every one for the  submissions .

Pricing Structure

The tickets for this year are as follows:

Adults: 12$

Kids: 5$ (above 5 years)

Kids below 5: free

 All Mela stalls will be adjusted a nominal $50 rental per table, for the evening. No cooking of any sort will be allowed in the premises.

Last date of requesting Mela participation is May 15th, 2019

We will inform all accepted Cultural Program requestor by April 15th, 2019

We will inform all accepted Mela participants by May 25th, 2019
