It is that time of the year again when we come together to celebrate Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore. Please join us for a cultural extravaganza consisting of his life’s work.

This year, the cultural program will consist of two main parts:

  1. General performance: Only performances composed by Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore (Rabindrasangeet, Rabindranrityo, Rabindronatok, Rabindranath’s poems etc.) will be considered.
  2. Rabindrasangeeter lorai: Come join us as 8 teams battle it out to prove their command over Rabindrasangeet. Multiple interesting rounds are sure to make this an event to remember.

Participant Registration & Rules

Deadline: April 25, 2021

General Guidelines:

  • Only performances composed by Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore (Rabindrasangeet, Rabindranrityo, Rabindronatok, Rabindranath’s poems etc.) will be considered.
  • While we will try to accommodate everyone’s performances, proposals will be entertained on a first-come first-serve basis. So, submit early!
  • Group performances will be given higher priority. Please limit to 1 participation per individual/group.
  • We will organize practice and demo preparation sessions beforehand to ensure that our audience has the very best experience. Please submit your pre-recorded videos by May 2,2021.

General Guidelines:

  • The main event will comprise of 8 teams. You can register either as a single participant or as a team of 2.
  • The decision of the judge/judges shall be final and binding on all teams.
  • There will be four rounds of different modes. In case of a tie there shall be a fifth round.

The rounds:

  • Round 1:  গানে গানে তব বন্ধন যাক টুটে Normal traditional gaaner lorai round with a twist – if the period (পর্যায়) is maintained the team is awarded 15 pts; otherwise the team gets 10 pts.
  • Round 2: শব্দকল্পদ্রুম One word would be given to each team and that team would have to sing the first two lines of songs, having the given word. The given word must come in the first two lines. Marking: 10 points for each right song. No minus points.
  • Round 3: তোমার হল শুরু, আমার হল সাড়া Each team need to guess the sthayi from the antara. Marking: 10 points for each right song. -5 points for no answer/wrong answers.
  • Round 4: Aud Lang Syne The clue is the translation in English of the sthayi of a Rabindrasangeet for the contestants to decipher. Marking: 10 points for each right song. -5 points for no answer/wrong answers.
